The $200,000 & Up Club

Collapse

The annual hundred thousand dollar club is a hallmark of the democracy movement in the Teamsters. While much has changed regarding Teamster officer compensation in the last several decades, big issues remain. Transparency on how members dues money is spent is truly the best safeguard against the kind of lavish spending we have witnessed in the past. Our belief is if you can't stand in front of the membership and tell them what you make, your probably making too much. Here's this years edition.

We at teamsterlink apologize for under-reporting the amount that Randel Korgan received from the IBT. A community member pointed it out and we regret the error.

When corrected, Brother Korgan moves from #14 on the $200,000 club list to #3, right behind GST Fred Zuckerman (who received extraordinary payments from his Local and Joint Council when the Constitution required him to stop taking salary from them when he became GST.

To set the record clear, here are the salary amounts Korgan was paid

2022 2021

Local 1932 $256,262 $258,510

JC 42 salary $1,154 $1,154

JC 42 “allowance” $60,000 $60,000

Local 63 “consultant”* $126,126 $126,126

------------- -------------

TOTAL SALARY $443,542 $445,790

Local 63’s LM-2 (for both 2022 and 2021) lists payment to “Randel Korgan Inc” as a “consultant” with total unitemized payments totaling $126,126. Since any payments over $5,000 are supposed to be itemized, that implies that there were at least 26 separate payments made during each year.
